Our grandparents Matt and Maggie Pepper started offering B&B accommodation in 1922. The B&B was continued by our parents Carl and Elsie. Carl was a German prisoner-of-war who was put to work on the farm and eventually married the farmers daughter. Since the deaths of Carl and Elsie the farm and B&B have now passed to the third and fourth generation who are continuing the family tradition of providing the highest standards of hospitality in a friendly, relaxed environment. |

About Our Guests |
About The Farm |
|
| Many of our guests
are regulars who come year after year. Our longest
serving guests have been coming for over 50 years.
A surprisingly high proportion of our guests have been from overseas travelling from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, Japan and America as well as Europe. Since we promote ourselves as ‘dog friendly’ many of our guests holiday here with their dogs, taking advantage of our additional facilities and rural location. |
The farm first appears on
maps from about 1680 when it was called Pyets Nest. Pyet is an
archaic word for magpie.
The farm has 120 acres (50 Ha) of pasture and meadows between 500 and 700 feet (150 - 200m ASL). We mainly have sheep and a few cattle. We also keep a few ducks, hens and angora goats.
